‘Gummy Smile’ treatment
Botox treatment for a gummy smile is an effective and minimally invasive procedure designed to reduce the excessive gum exposure that occurs when some people smile. Botox is injected into the muscles that control the upper lip, specifically the levator labii superioris. The toxin temporarily relaxes these muscles, preventing them from contracting fully when you smile. This results in the upper lip staying lower when you smile, thereby reducing the amount of gum that is visible.

‘Lip Flip”
The "lip flip" using Botox is a cosmetic procedure aimed at enhancing the appearance of the upper lip, making it appear fuller and more defined without the volume addition typical of dermal fillers. This technique involves injecting a small amount of Botox into the orbicularis oris muscle, which is the muscle around the lips. The Botox relaxes specific parts of this muscle, causing the upper lip to curl outward slightly, hence the "flip." This creates the illusion of a fuller lip by increasing its visibility.

Downturned Mouth
Treating a downturned mouth with Botox is an effective way to lift the corners of the mouth and create a more youthful and pleasant facial expression. This condition, often referred to as a "marionette line," can give a permanent sad or angry look, which can be gracefully managed with Botox injections.
How It Works:
Botox is injected into the depressor anguli oris muscle (DAO), which is responsible for pulling the corners of the mouth downward. By relaxing this muscle, Botox allows the corners of the mouth to lift slightly, countering the sagging or frowning appearance.

Specialised Treatments
Bruxism / TMJ / Facial Slimming
Anti-wrinkle injections are not only effective for reducing facial lines but also offer therapeutic benefits for conditions like bruxism (teeth grinding), TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorders), and for achieving a slimmer jawline. By targeting the muscles involved in these conditions, the injections can help relax and reduce muscle activity. This leads to a decrease in the force of jaw clenching, which can alleviate pain and discomfort associated with TMJ and bruxism. Additionally, the same treatments can contour the jawline, creating a more aesthetically pleasing and defined facial profile. This multifunctional approach not only enhances facial aesthetics but also improves functional issues, providing a dual benefit from a single treatment.

Hyperhidrosis (Excessive sweating)
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterised by excessive sweating, far more than the body needs for temperature regulation.
Treating hyperhidrosis with Btox involves using botulinum toxin to temporarily block the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate sweat glands. When these nerves can't communicate with the sweat glands, the severe sweating stops.

What are Dermal Fillers?Over time as our skin ages and loses its youthfulness. Many people become aware of wrinkles and lines that can age them, making them appear tired and less attractive. Dermal fillers are a regenerative treatment, which can define, restore and enhance the face while respecting the unique anatomy and character that makes you.
-
What treatments can I have?Dermal fillers are injected just under the skin to plump out lines and to add volume where needed. The dermal filler comprises of a gel made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body. This makes it a very safe product to use. Areas such as the cheeks, chin and jawline can be enhanced to create a contoured look. Volume can be added to the lips, cheeks or the under eye area. Deeper lines such as nose to mouth, mouth to chin and smoker lines can be dramatically softened. The results are instantly visible and generally last 6-9 months, sometimes longer and require no maintenance.
-
Are there any side effects or risks? There may be some redness, swelling and bruising after the treatment which can take a few days to resolve. Whilst dermal fillers are medically safe the treatment may not be not be suitable for certain patients. A full medical consultation will be carried out with the doctor to ensure the procedure is safe to carry out.
-
How long does the result last? Results are apparent immediately after the procedure, so you leave the clinic with an immediate improvement. Most dermal fillers will last between six to 18 months, depending on which filler is used and how your body responds to the treatment.
